“Be miserable.  Or motivate yourself.  Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.” – Wayne Dyer

I know you’ve all been hearing about it… but I truly can’t say enough about how inspiring it was to watch Ann, and so many of our athletes, perform in what were some pretty wild conditions and intimidating circumstances.  The reason it was inspiring was because of what I typically think when I am in the same spot they’re in: Why care? Why keep going? Why bother with doing my best?

Why?

Well I was shown why this weekend… because excellence is a habit and courage is a learned behavior.  Doing our best better is what separates us from mediocrity – what makes us both dream and accomplish the impossible.

Greengas could not (I tell you she could NOT!) do chest to bar pullups on Friday but did 30 on Sunday.  Steve could NOT have swung that kettlebell if had been part of the plan.  Felix could not have cleaned that 155lb. bar as many times as he did if he had not set a steel mind to it.  And Ann – Ann could certainly not have literally mauled the third event of sectionals and sent all the men of Tribe back into the Athletes corner in awe… if she had not buckled down and cared.

With only one life to live – why do less?  Every time you do CrossFit you are given an opportunity to do more than the bare minimum.  Some small form of greatness is set out before you – and all you have to do is take it… one day at a time.

Go the distance, folks.  Do better.  Tell yourself you care.  NO REGRETS.
